esp in OR, see if you can't get the tarp nearly down to the ground
Rae Jardine style. I learned alot from a friend's book regarding tarps.
So when it is cold and windy and rainy, I pitch it so the tarp nearly touches the ground.
Definitely. It wasn't to windy, and this was my first time trying this. How the hammocks were, I could have brought down the tarp at least a foot. My hammock didn't settle and move lower to the ground much, but I don't think I'd want to get any closer. My ridgeline was almost touching Titus' tent though. We'll continue to experiment with it!

This is next on my list. I think being in the same level would be better for chatting. He would also be able to work on hanging his own setup that way too.

What tarp are you using there?

With this spread, we're just a few inches away from each other. Should work nice this next weekend!

this is how I like it. I keep my son right next to me within arm reach. I usually put him slightly higher then me so his bmbh is resting on the edge of my bias camper.

good for you on many fronts; cancer, getting outdoors, hanging, setting the bar for ur son, bonding... Your a good man charlie brown.

Can't think of a better way to get your mind off the big "C" than screwing around with a hammock. And doing it with your son makes it even better. When I went through something similar my youngest was still in grade school. Now he is 24. I tried lots of things to get my mind from doing "what if's". Some worked better than others. Wish I had gotten bitten by the hammock bug back then since it is so focusing. Good luck and prayers.

Looks good there. I was using a HG standard Cuban tarp. A lot more fun talking a laughing with each other
