On the 28th December I will be flying out as a part of a team of explorer scouts (14-18y) to the Kaira Konko Scout Lodge in Soma, The Gambia. We will be doing community work rebuilding storm-damaged houses, teaching in local schools and running activities for the local scout groups.
And of course, I am taking a hammock -my trekmates expedition. It's lightweight and very compact. Oppurtunities for sleeping it are pretty low, as I don't have a bugnet, but I'm planning on kipping in it during our 'siesta' time around midday when it's hot. Hopefully I'll be able to get some pictures, and if much hammock activity happens, I'll post up a report with some pictures and maybe even video!
