@Flatfishy, just over the road, Chepstow/Pontypool.
Welcome from Nottingham. Spent 2 years in Chepstow 89-91 at the Army Aprrentices College, good times shame they closed that place.
I love how OP's username is The Big Lebowski, and the first commenter (Barlutti) actually looks like The Dude.
Keep an eye out for our small get togethers in the area.
Will do mate, same go's. we hold bushcraft meets this end with a bit of wild camping and coastal foraging thrown in if you fancy a night out some time.
@cloudedice.
Partly as no matter how well I rigged it, occasionally it would let me down, mostly on stormy nights. I tried an UQ protector to help the situation, but would get really bad condensation, even at minus temps. I even had a mate jump in the hammock one day, rigged it up perfectly and cable tied all the shock cords in place. Still had the odd cold night though so gave up.
A pad allows me to ground dwell (with a lightweight bivi) or hammock, sometimes I prefer the tree's, other times I may head to the hills so its nice to have the option in one pack.
The thought of a differential cut quilt, such as the incubator has me chin scratching though!
All the best, al.
