Hello fellow tadpole lover.. What about Dutch? I believe he has a solution to this problem... No sewing involved..
We would be one step closer to world peace, if everyone slept in a hammock..

    Caveman-

I made a cuben tarp last year, and I was wondering the same thing.

Now, as a side note, I tried and tested this method on both sil and cuben just for fun. Not scientific at all, but it worked.

I made little circles (3-4") and put the 3M tape I got specifically for bonding the cuben on the back of these. I then did use the primer (not really necessary, but I did it cuz I had it).
I just mounted them on the tarp where I wanted.

Now, I did test this on sil. It bonded very well. But I never got to do any strong wind testing.

I now use this little swatch as a minimalist repair kit : the cuben plus the tape. The tape comes with a brown backing tape so you can just pull it off when you need it.

I repaired my wind jacket and well as my nano Puff hoodie with these cuben swatches.

    Just a couple of ideas.....

    JRB also has a solution.

    Grip Clips

You can also use strips of sil and use GE Silicone II to adhere them to the tarp. I've made many a patch using this same method and am assuming may work just as well for pullouts. No sewing needed.

I saw this idea (which seems pretty good) but I don't want to cause any problems with the tarp material. Has anyone tried this, or have any ideas about how it would affect the sil?

Skip to about 4min to get to the actual project.

    I loved this video. hahaha!

I did use the contact lens cases for spices at one time.

I would like to see the results for a test.

If you use grip clips,,and they slide on ya,,just get a balloon and cut it and mount with the grip clip,,and the latex rubber will keep it from sliding down the tarp sides on you.

....I have used this and it works, and will be using it on my son's tarp again this winter. The plus to this is that when the wind is super, super gusty or when someone snags and trips over your line at night, that cap will pop off before any structure damage to the tarp happens. Came in real hand one night when my mother had the 3am nature call and some how she got tangled in Dakota's lines We still don't know how she did that, but the tarp didn't tear.
