Your luck, Will be.. having TQ & bottom Quilt in some kind of Fur.. with the length of a Hammock strung up between two tree's. All cozy

    Meanwhile,
Some Ground dweller in a lack of sleep mode, will glance over. Seeing a Long Furry Creature levitating between tree's and Call yea a "Squawtch" Takes Camera out for blurry Photo. Then Yep, the legend takes on a new twist.. BIGFOOT sleeps in hammock!

Still good plan, with use of fur. Unless, Darn coon finds it fun to run his paws into the fur. lol

I don't see fur used this way as coming close trapping the amount of air that down and synthetic insulation does. Plus you will have the large weight penalty of the leather the fur is attached to. There will also be the bulk issue. I truly think you're attempting to hang from the wrong tree with this one.

While there is room for many improvements and different styles in hammocking, I don't believe that everything needs to be reinvented considering the materials available today.

Mostly, there will be a weight penalty - hide is heavier than nylon, but tougher!
Fur side out will be warm, but will lose heat in the wind. Fur in will trap warm air, but may compress the loft.
