using old fur coat for UQ?

Anyone have any idea about the insulation properties of fur? If i could find an old fur coat and recycle it into a 3/4 UQ i wonder if it would be as effective/more or less effective than down? Anyone tried this?
I'm thinking if i could find and repurposing an old fur coat by having it taken apart and sewn back together in a rectangle with a tarp type material as a backing, hung fur side inside against the hammock?

Down works by trapping the air within itself. Not sure if fur could manage the same feat as effectively. Would you be backpackiing this bad boy around?

Most likely, but if i had it put together with a bit of forethought i could have it designed as a wearable poncho as well? As for air, if the fur side is against the hammock but not super tight you don't think it would capture the air well enough?

Was he using it for top or bottom? Laying on or under?

Ever see a cold bear, Or Cat?. Fur is the best insulation around, next to Feathers & blubber. Hard part finding the fur coat to cut up?. Depends on type of fur, as well.

Try beaver, black bear, caribou, Otter, Foxes.. critters of the northern hemispheres.

Another option for finding more Down comforters, Visit a Dry cleaners, see if they have Old unclaimed down covers laying Or Large wool coats.. Pay the cleaning bill for it.. they might be happy to get money and unclaimed item out of the store. Its what I did.
