    What next?

    Hi
    If you read my intro you know that I got my son a Hennessy Expedition Asym Zip and 20* Zeppelin Full Length Underquilt for Christmas, thanks to Peripatew, a copy of The Ultimate Hang.

    His dad just called and asked what he would like for Christmas. Not holding my breath but just in case... What would be the next logical item to add to this set up?

    +3 on the tarp, he can use a sleeping bag as a top quilt for now.

    Top quilt, tarp, whoopie slings, down pillow, backpack buddy, another hammock, I could go on but I think I'll stop while you still have money lol.
    Life looks better from a BIAS hammock.

    Oh I overspent my Christmas budget by quite a bit. But if dad wants to spend some of his money this year, then I'll let him

    So Winter Tarp?

    Tarp... A warbonnet superfly will do everything a tarp can do at a reasonable weight and "reasonable" cost... Cost is always subjective...
    Live, Laugh, Love, if that doesn't work. Load, Aim and Fire, repeat as necessary...

    Don't be afraid to check the for sale thread. Great tarps are always popping up Top quilts to. If you watch sometimes a synthetic fill top quilt will hit at a very good price. Not everything has to be brand new.

    * a decent tarp - HH tarps aren't great
    * whoopie sling suspension
    * a book/ebook on knots - prusiks, half hitches, etc are quite essential for hammocking
    * a quality CCF pad, torso length is ample
