Sleeping Bag for top and bottom insulation?

Can we use an extra-long sleeping bag as a cocoon around our Hammock ? I tried it last night in the back yard and it seemed to work. I first tried an old sleep cell bag and cut a small hole in the bottom and passed the suspension through. It worked pretty good for an old worn out bag. I then tried it with a Golight XL Down bag. But did not cut a hole. I put the hammock suspension in the bottom of the bag, bunched it together from the outside and tied it off. It also seemed to work very well. I only did this for about 30 mins. I did not want to risk damaging my good bag. However I might look at buying a new one and cutting a hole and sewing a cinch cord around it. I’m sure this has been tried I just couldn't find a thread on it.

"Pods" I thought it was a type of bag. Didn't realize it was a style of hanging. Thanks! This is exactly what I was looking for.
