Pretty slick set-up!
I'm not asleep... but that doesn't mean I'm awake.
Started pouring and the seam of my tarp started leaking...sleeping bag is soaked and its time to go to sleep inside

Aww man. Good job testing out your gear in relative safety of the house!
You'll get it dialed in. I have faith in you.

It's our job to learn from failures though to ensure they don't occur again. Good on you for trying out your gear in the backyard before carrying it out in the woods. Now to get that ridgeline sealed before the next test session.

Looks like a great set up.
Have fun camping in the back yard
OOps didn't see the leaky seam post... best to test it at home first
Have fun learn from the trip

No worries! Next time in the piney will be a success. Good plan though....who among us hasn't bailed from a backyard bungle?
Good luck!
Your first test was a success, IMO. Glad you found that weakness in your tarp before you actually hit the woods. Improvise, adapt and overcome as they say.
Also, I'm amazed at your suspension rig. The stick rig. Clever.
