Got a chance to get out and into the woods for an out and back this past weekend. Hope you enjoy the video. Not sure how to embed video?

Can't wait to watch this.
Will definitely watch tomorrow as I've got to get ready for work now. My goal is to do a thru hike of the Foothills Trail this spring...Thanks for posting!
Looks like you had a great time. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for the tips!
I only touched on a bit of the Foothills Trail but it got me wanting to do the full length. I ran into a woman that had hiked it 22 times. Very nice woman.
Great video. Thanks for taking us along.
So that looked like a one nighter? How long was the loop? I might have to check this place out. Been meaning to get over to the Foothills trail area.
I am not sure actually, I combined this route, this was the back part, and the counter clockwise route on the outer loop of Table Rock State Park <map>.
I slept at marker nine on the first map. I will say this, get water where you can. There wasn't much of it. The views were awesome when I could see them.
Really nice job on the video! Looks like you had an enjoyable trip, and congrats on your first solo. That Foothills Trail is quite a jewel, and hope you enjoy the rest of it. I hiked it this year, and highly recommend it, though you do have to plan ahead and watch for those water sources.
I'm curious about that deer scrape-- how do you tell that's what it is?
Very, very pretty area.
The FHT is definitely one of the nicest trails that I've had the chance to hike on, even if it did kick me in the behind. And Table Rock is just gorgeous.
Thanks for taking us along!

Years and years of hunting. But when you know what they are, they are obvious.
Things too look for are:
- a game trail
- there will be a circle cleared in the leaves, the size will very slightly but for a good one 18" across
- a small branch or group of branches that hangs over the scrape
You can tell if they have been in it recently by how clear it is. If it is a dirt circle with no leaves kicked into it, they have been in it recently.
Some people don't know that deer also have scent glands by their eyes. There is a waxy substance there and that is what they rub on the over hanging branches.
Then you look for rubs. Rubs are made by bucks rubbing their antlers on the trunk of a tree until the bark rubs off. The bigger the tree the bigger the buck.
