Is there a good glue for CCF?

I am trying to glue pad extending wings (made from tyvek) onto a blue CCF pad. Results are pending (glue is drying) but i am getting the impression that the silicone glue i am using is not a good choice for glueing to the ccf.

    does anyone have any input?

Why don't you just use Tyvek tape? That stuff sticks to anything!

i am using the tyvek tape in addition, but it seems like it could be pulled off rather easily from the foam.

i am making this for an upcoming thru, and need it to be pretty long term. If it was for a shorter section, i would probably have no qualms with doing just the tape.

Gotcha. C3 tape works well with fabrics, but I've never tried it with tyvek or CCF. It's a double sided tape, and when ironed makes a pretty permanent bond. Not sure on how it would stick to the Tyvek, though. Let me do an experiment in my basement - I have some CCF and some tyvek laying around. The other thing I would think about is maybe hand stitching through the tyvek tape with some fishing line or heavy poly thread. You could use a leather awl or a heavy upholstery needle, and make wide stitches. The tyvek tape should keep the CCF from tearing.

OK Finn, this sounds a bit silly, but exactly how do i sew to begin with? I really just need a basic strategy.

I've been told Gorrilla Glue (read the directions) and contact cement will work.

Get one of these and follow the directions. This would sew two pieces of CCF with no problem.
