Geminid meteor shower from the hammock.

Ok so it's about 2am it's 37*f me and the kids out in the back yard watching the show. I love my hammock.
Well my son just bailed (Winnie). So it's just me and my daughter now.

I'm hanging out, too. I saw some activity after 10:00, but a big cloud bank rolled in so the 2:00 show is hidden...

I hung out for a while last night and saw some. Then ... I fell asleep ... in a hammock ... toasty warm ... go figure!

I started to hang out, but alas I too fell asleep. I consider myself lucky though. I saw about 5-6 very brilliant shooting stars on the way into work this morning. You know they're great when you can see over the I-95 traffic heading into DC 8)

I enjoyed the cooler air opening up the sky here. I saw 5 or 6 nice ones and went back in to spend time with my wife and her friends who were over. Glad you enjoyed the show.

My plan was to spend the night in my hammock outside watching the shower but the clouds decided otherwise. I'm hoping that maybe tonight things will clear up so I can catch some of the tail end of the show.

Jupiter has been spectacular this year. With a good set of binoculars, on a moonless night, and looking into the Eastern sky just after dusk, you should even be able to see some of its moons.

The last good meteor shower we were supposed to have was several weeks ago. I got up at 2 and froze my assets off out on the back porch for an hour and never saw a thing. O well.
