    Back in the hammy

I've not been hanging since Dutch was over with us in August I've just been too busy working and the trips I've done lately have all been tent based. My winter project was to build a hot tent and wood burning stove which has been fun and the outcome is just what I had in mind.
This weekend was supposed to be a paddling trip in Scotland but it got binned because of strong NE winds forecast, a backup plan was to gatecrash a meet-up a couple of hours from here and spend a few days relaxing around a campfire.
I took the Superfly and Blackbird along with my winter quilts and just had the best sleep ever last night. To say I'd not hung for a few months I managed to get a perfect pitch first time, no ridge under the calves and the feet were just raised slightly. I was late to bed around 1 a.m but slept through until 7:30 when I needed to get up and water the plants, a quick sprint into the woods in my Woolpower and then back into the hammy and my toasty downy loveliness, next time I woke it was nearly ten o'clock.
Looking forward to getting out again after Christmas, hopefully with some low temps and plenty of snow.

Just thought I'd share that with you

Glad to hear that you're back in the hammy. I have the same problem with work getting in the way a of hanging. Isn't the contrast with tent camping amazing! I can't wait for sunrise to get out of a tent but I never want to leave the hammock, especially when it's cold outside.

Hey Rich; glad to hear you had a good outing. I've also been lovin my woolpower goodness. Great piece . I wish i could go so long without having to answer the call of nature,,,,comes with getting older i guess. We got about 10cm of snow last night and a snow warning is up for tonight so were finally getting winter. Hope to be out in the hot shelter soon.
