WL Snipe: Ways to install replaceable suspension?

Just purchased a WL Snipe with the included whoopie slings already attached to the whipped ends. Its great! So comfy I nearly fall asleep each time in it. That 11' length really makes a difference- so does the 1.5 nylon single-layer, but I digress...

The hammock arrived with whoopies already attached.
The included whoopies are larks-headed around each whipped end. I'd rather remove them and larkshead a loop or a dogbone so the whoopies can become more "detachable"

    1. Anyone done this, or something similar, allowing the whoopies to easily separate from the hammock ends - just in case the whoopies get wet?
    2. Also, any ideas for keeping the larkshead securely attached to the gathered end whipping(cable ties)?

No problem with what you want to do. Dutch's whoopie hooks or Dutch biners are a couple of ways to attach a continuous loop to the whoopie slings. The larkshead on the whipped end should stay in place on its own because once it gets loaded it gets tight enough to stay put.

i put continuous loops larks headed around the gather with Dutch biners on my NO.
dog bones and Dutch biners on my LO.
on my slowhike NO i'm going dogbones and Duck Whoopie hooks.
i run the SRL around the tale of the loop or bone and viola!

    it just makes up/down easier.

a larkshead is really easy to undo and re do. Just push the long end back through the loop of the knot.
my hammock gear weights total: 2430g (~86oz)
    Winter: total 2521 (~89oz)
(see my profile for detailed weights)

It's 38F and raining here now. I'm under the tarp and can remove the larkshead easily from my Snipe without detaching the whole thing (I decided to put the Lazy Slug on after the fact today).

Dutchbling is always welcome but it's not really been necessary with this (stock) setup so far.

My orange whoopies don't absorb water at all in moderate rains so far. But I wonder if these are Dynaglide or Amsteel...? The Amsteel I got from Dutch is a lot beefier than the whoopies WL sent along.

to my knowledge WL makes their Whoopies out of 7/64 AmSteel.
