Good example, take right now...in Johnson City/Bristol 4-6 inches of fresh just fallen; at Carvers 10-12 and still snowing.....but by tomorrow afternoon the road will have been plowed---theoretically
It's almost like we finally pushed open the door to winter in east TN.

It would be great to have cars at Overmountain and get shuttled to Carvers, spend Friday night at RHK and Saturday at Overmountain...but last year the car shuttle became a challenge and no one wanted to cross the balds you did last week in the whiteout. So this too we'll plan by ear that week of the hang once we have a better view of the fronts headed that way.

Hopefully it'll be challenging enough this year. I do have new gear to try after all.
RHK to Overmountain would be a pretty tough distance with a four season pack and weather.
but I think the times have changed for a while....we'll see.
Did we ever post this hang out in the open for all to see? Or it just hidden in these threads?
