Yeah we will have to replan this hike for warmer conditions ! As for my group we are pretty well fixed one using the backup hike ! A few more have jumped in for this area that are not on the Forrum , the location was more suitable for there comfort zone! I really look forward to hiking that section in Roan with everyone !

So the road up to Carvers is slushy/icy, but still open, right? Also, anyone have any recent intel on depth of snow heading from Carvers to 19E? Thanks guys, it should be a fun outing - I'll post pics if I survive

Was last Thursday when I was there and the weather has not been that bad since. The road to Carvers is maintained by the state, so even if a big storm hits they usually get it cleared in 1-2 days....bit of advice on the dude and the snowplow, behind him is ok but I wouldn't want to be i front of him.
Good advice, indeed. I'm heading up in the morning, let you know how it on thursday when I get back.
