    Frame for hanging hammock?

Unfortunately for me all the trees in my back yard have been blown down by mother nature so I don't have anything there to hang my hammock on.

Has anyone constructed a frame for hanging a hammock in the backyard? If there are threads discussing this I haven't seen them. Just thought this would be a fun project to take on.

There's tons of different stands out there. Two of the most popular are the TurtleLady and TurtleDog stands:

I have a number of these due to a lack of trees, too, and really like them.

Sure thing. They are fun, easy and relatively inexpensive (under $50 each) to do. Those, whoopie slings and tablecloth hammocks are the first three, pretty easy DIY projects to start with.

I see you have your tarp attached to one of your legs. Any concerns that strong winds might pull on a leg and tip it over? Or, does it still feel steady enough when you're in it?

It's attached by small stainless hooks
I would think that when staked down or with me in it that those hooks will stretch before that thing yanks me over... Just a thought, haven't had high winds... I would probably just go inside if the wind got high enough to be a concern... In the photo I just had it up to block the sun...
