i keep mine in what Paul from Undergroud Quilts called his stake burrito

it's just a 12"x12" piece of 1.1 silnylon with a 3-4" double sided piece of velcro (the kind used to wrap computer cords so it sticks to itself) sewn to one corner of the sil

set the sil triangular to you, lay the stakes on it roll once or twice and then fold the side corners over and continue to roll till you get to the corner with the velcro and pull the velcro over and back to itself and you have a "stake burrito" all credit and name goes to Paul, great little idea i got from him

I keep mine in a box at home along with all the other stuff I bought then realised I don't need.

Wherever I've found a place to hand I have found sticks or rocks to use as stakes. K.I.S.S.

+1 with Joe's/Zpack cuben stake bag, hold 4-6 of the groundhogs because of the sharp tip.

6 Vargo titanium nails go into the side pocket of Mountain Goat's tarp sleeve.

Your telling that story on here has had a very positive effect on me, making me more conscious of NOT forgetting anything, so thanks for the help and sorry that it cost you some nice gear.

    Re-Inforced Stake Bag

I used some recycled ripstop nylon scrap I had laying around.
I also cut a plastic milk jug down and added this piece of plastic to the bottom to prevent any future tears. It is removeable so I can clean the dirt out later.
Also if you look closely some of the lightest weight stakes can be seen made from Bamboo(Chop Sticks). I use them on my Grizzbeaks.

I bought a set of ENO Atlas straps a while back, they came with a very nice little nylon stuff sack which I immediately commandeered for stake duty.

It holds my stakes, the CRL for my tarp, and whatever other related items I decide to throw in there quite nicely:
