I don't think it was HC4U that did this "back in the day". I remember Jazilla put a small zipper in his a couple of years ago. 2Questions has some great pictures in the gallery of the various zipper mods he and his wife offer.

Here's how I was going to go about it:

-cut the bugnet, perhaps with a razorblade, where I will be putting the zipper.
-then sew some bias tape or other border to reinforce the bugnet especially, but maybe on the other side too, depending...
-then sew on the non-separating, coil zipper.

Mine will have two double-sided zipper pulls installed, butting heads with each other, and the ends of the zipper will be closed with grosgrain.
HC4U did install zippers on his hennessy clone, I remember him saying they gave him some issues. I don't remember if he ever posted about completing his overcover. IIRC the idea was to be able to swap out the net for the cover, as you will almost never need both at the same time.

I've thought about doing the mod myself... but by the time I buy the zippers and do the work I would be behind the curve in terms of accomplishing anything. I also hate installing zippers particularly when it is on my "go to" hammock. I'm certainly not suggesting it shouldn't be done. By all means, knock yourself out.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

I forgot about the DIY HH zipper.

Here's HC4U's DIY HH Clone thread, including zipper install details.

Well, I knew HC4U had zippers on his DIY HH, but in my mind that's a lot different than cutting into a commercially made HH to make a mod.

    Semantics, I guess?

Here's a chance to be lucky and smart. It's smart to let 2Q's do it. We're lucky he will. I did one of my own after the local seamstress botched it. I wouldn't do that again. 2Q's did the next two. But....given your level of skill, go for it. Good luck.
