    Adjustable UQ ridgeline attachment

Made a sew-up PLUQ today, and now I'm playing with the suspension.

Initially I made some triangle thingies out of braided mason line, and fiddled with getting the dimensions of the triangle right.

After a couple of refinements, I'm now at this - a loop of mason line, attached to the ridgeline with a prussic/klemheist knot. Both pieces of shockcord come through and are held by a single cord lock.

Benefits over a triangle thingie are that this is adjustable along the ridgeline, and eliminates a cord lock.

Planning to hang in the basement tonight & test it out.

I was thinking about something along these lines as well. I've found it difficult to get my 48" UQ into the perfect position when connected at the ends of the hammock. I was playing around with tying it to the ridgeline (for testing purposes only; prusik would definitely be better for general use), and I found I could snug up the gaps a bit better without adding another whole piece of equipment.

That looks like a good and simple solution. Consider losing the 550, though.

I've used this, too. This is by far the best UQ suspension connection solution when not using a zippered on bug net (in those cases, the ridgeline isn't accessible to get clipped on to). Flexible, simple and easy! Thanks for sharing.

Bumbler: Your suspension is similar to Scum's idea he posted a while back. You might like his version better for its ease of adjustment from the hammock. Love that!

Yeah, still trying to figure out my ideal ridgeline length. I know 550 stretches but don't know whether or not I can detect it...at some point I'll get some zing-it or similar...
