Looks like a great start to a hike and dang what a fine meal for the end of the day! Steak, and cheesy rice ... mighty fine!

Your hiking schedule did remind me why I don't like to hike defined miles per day. I get way too distracted by what I see along the trail or the fine folks I meet ... to make point A to point B my objective. Reminds me too much of my work life and that's definitely not why I go to the woods ... to be reminded of schedules and dead lines! ha!

    LOOKING FORWARD TO PART TWO!!!!

    Lazy in the woods Hawk-ustus!

Thanks for the video. It makes me want to get out and go for a hike but then again we just got two feet of snow so I think not.

Now I'm both tired and hungry from watching. Can't wait for the next installment.

No kidding. I have some of the original steak left over so I can grill it for my wife and I. I started thinking real hard about it during the editing.

The first song is "You're Grace is Enough" by Chris Tomlin and the second is "Christmas Time will Soon Be Over" by Jack White.

Loved the CL-RL (Christmas Light-Ridge Line), haven't seen that before.
    Looking forward to part-2 . . .

I'm glad you liked the CL-RL. I'm editing part 2 now.

Some men sit in church and think about hiking. Some go hiking, and end-up thinking abut God.
You're welcome. I can't go out there without thinking about God.

Camping is nice, but a wife waiting patiently at home for you is nicer.

Looks like a good time for the trip. Was that a GPS I saw on your left packstrap? I like the grill and the Christmas lights.

The FHT is a beautiful trail, for sure.

Thanks for the shout-out; Mrs. FLRider and I are doing just fine. We're actually going to be up that way over the weekend for Christmas, in Helen, GA.

I look forward to the rest of your trip report videos!
That is a GPS. I was recording trail data for Antigravity Gear. Enjoy Helen, GA. It is a nice town with a fun German village.

I hike with less of a set milage in mind when I hike with others. Until I et one of those nifty PLB that you have, I try to stay as close to schedule for my family's sake as possible.

    mmmmm steak.

Two feet?!? If you don't want it, I'll gladly take it over the 40F and rain we have right now.

It is a premo path. The grill worked great. Contact Dr. Zooz through Qiwiz's site for more info.
