    whoopies as tarp tie outs?

I made a couple of 1.75mm zing it whoopies and was thinking about using them for tarp tie outs. Is there someone that's tried this that could tell me the pros and cons of something like that? Just playing and was curious.

Very interesting idea. Allot of people use pruisks but a couple of whoopies could do the trick.

Thinking whoppies would work but would be too much weight. I am looking at trying pruisks on my hang, less weight.
I am still 18 but with 52 years of experience !

Weight would not be an issue. We're talking grams. (of course....I guess those do add up)

Sounds like it would work fine.
What do you use for a fid to make the whoopies on that small of a line?

I use a sewing needle. Walmart sells a variety pack that works.

If you don't mind carrying the extra weight of a couple dozen paper clips then go for it. Seems like they should work.

I had wondered about using them also.
What length did you make them?

This has been considered by many. The con of using a sling versus a prusik, is it limits your options. The buries make pitching the tarp close to the ground finnicky. Also, stringing the tarp in porch mode is nice, but takes a good amount of cord, which would be doubled using a sling. Means more bulk, more untangling, all when a single piece of cord and a simple hitch accomplishes the same thing.
