Should have stopped in Toledo and picked me up (just kidding). I'm continuing my "how low can you go" testing. I was out Friday and Saturday nights, last night (12/22) was great. 19 degrees here. Stayed toasty, don't use as many clothes, but use an Army gore-tex bivy bag instead. Had breakfast in the hammock then came in. Funny to say, I'm waiting for the weather to really turn to sh_t!

Nice report and pictures. I especially like the frost! Great to hear from another happy RR customer.

Great first night! What happens if you touch your tongue to a Dutch Flyz at 17 degrees?

Thanks for the report. Very 'cool' pictures.

What is the red part of the yellow rope that goes around the tree?

    Thanks.

Looks like a great setup. And sounds like it was a wonderful night to be out.

Thank you very much for all the kind words. I had great fun with this! I really enjoyed making all the lines for the tarp and learning about how to stay warm in the colder months. Now that I have everything I need, it is time to start getting ready for my thru-hike of the SHT with my wife this summer! This means lots more hiking and trips to learn how to properly use all of my new acquisitions! This means lots more trip reports and pictures! Thanks for reading along!

Thanks Sturgeon! By the way, when I checked the bark on the trees, there was absolutely no sign of damage or that anything was ever there. Worked like a charm!
