Very nice, congrats on the first night! Interested to hear how it goes. Unless it gets a whole lot colder, you might not even need the pad...

    Trip Report

Okay, here's the official trip report. My wife got me a new 3 season Lynx as a Christmas present (early of course!) We drove up to visit my folks in Ann Arbor and we decided to bring our hammocks (I got her a WBBB for Christmas.) So, I grabbed my RR, Cloudburst, Lynx, Kelty Cosmic Down 20 bag and CCF pad. I also put my heavy tights, wool long johns, merino sweater, Mountain Hardware down shirt, hat, balaclava, merino glove liners and fleece gloves. I threw my new AGG rain jacket (as a vapor barrier) in for good measure. I ended up setting everything up in the dark (procrastination) which went well considering it was the second time setting up the tarp and first time attaching the Lynx (easiest thing ever!) I crawled in at around 2220 and it was 27 deg F. Fell asleep by 2245. I ended up wearing everything mentioned above except for the AGG jacket. I woke up once after dreaming of waterfalls, and then again with the sun at 0745 to a frosty 17 deg F. I was very warm, no sweat or anything, and my balaclava acted to keep my breath from condensing on the tarp or hammock. My feet were a little chilly, but could have been fixed with a hot water bottle. Over all, complete success in my opinion. I did get a chance to try out the "tree savers" I made for the ridge line on the tarp. I cut 2' sections of paracord, stripped the interior cordage and just kept the sleeve. I then put my zing-it through it on both ends. This allows my zing it to slide through it while tensioning or adjusting the tarp and ridge line without damaging the bark on the trees.

    Here's the set up.

Great trip report and fantastic pictures! I love the ones of the Dutch Tarp Flyz; Dutch should use that one on his site.

Great setup and that tarp looks to be set up perfectly.

    Sounds like a great wife!

    Merry Christmas
