Used it in my sew-em-up PLUQ. A single layer added about 15 degrees over the no-sew version for me (so, about 5 or 10 degrees for a normal person).

Cons: bulk and weight versus down.

I made an underquilt using two layers as my first DIY underquilt

It came out quite nice and I stayed warm using it and a 20* mummy bag

Temp was 27* and winds of 15mph

I am a Hot Sleeper though

It of course is bulky and does not compress well

but it was cheap and a good first sewing project

I too added between the layers of my PLUQ. It was enough to get down to freezing. With out the IB, the PLUQtook me down to about 45*. It does not compact very well at all.

My observations with Insul-bright added to a full length double PLUQ:

You need to keep it snugged up to your rear or it does very little in terms of heat retention.

It added so much weight to my PLUQ that it sagged too far to be useful....so factor that into your setup...

Other than that, it is a good fabric to have on hand, you can make cozies and stuff out of it....or you can wrap your outdoor water pipes to prevent freezing like I did!
