    Deleting a Post?

Did we recently lose the ability to delete our own posts or am I having another senior moment?

I liked having a short period to delete a post. It was convenient when I posted only to find someone had posted in the interim making my post redundant (or incorrect or just stupid).

It is under the edit options at the bottom.

Of course after reading this you could just delete your post making mine seem redundant or stupid.

I'd love to make you redundant but I can't find that option now...hence my question.

Edit...That's really weird...my "delete" button is back now.

I believe the poster may delete their own posts with ONE exception. If you start a thread, then the first post, you may edit but not delete. So if you started a thread, decided to delete it, you can't (a moderator or admin may delete it if you ask really nice and send then egg nog).

I think that's right. I've started a thread--decided against it, then edited it to be a completely different subject! It was kind of dorky, but it was really just a cover-up!

Generally yes, but some weirdness exists.

I did a double post in the Cutlery sub-forum and it does not give me the option to delete. Except for my thread starter, my posts here do give me the delete option.

I'm wondering if it's a glitch in that forum or just one of those "special" little things that happen to me.
