    Equip travel hammock mod

I picked up an equip travel hammock at Walmart this spring. I was surprised at the qualityof this hammock for 25 bucks. I changed the suspension with the stock. suspension from the my hennessy hammock and I let it hang out in the back yard until fall. I was sitting here thinking about picking up a few more of these and trying to make a sort of hennessy super shelter style set up just for the fun of it. Just wondered if anyone has done this? Also looking for cool creative ideas for a project like this. Thanks guys.huts

I have not modded my Equip hammock in any way but I agree that it is excellent for the price. I have gotten a lot of use out of it and might mod it now that I have another back-up hammock.

I bought mine as a back up for my hennessy. I was thinking if I was to buy another one I could hang it under the original and it could hold a sleeping pad or a sleeping bag.

Also if I was any good at sewing a third one would make a nice top cover like bivy style hammock or like the supershelter style. It would be really cool if it could zip out

I have had a bunch of thoughts about how to modify one of these hammocks to be an underquilt and weathershield in one. I was thinking about using some Velcro to attach one of the higher quality survival blankets to the inside of it. I found one at the local surplus stores for like 20I bucks. I do t know if I would have to cut it and do it in two sections. I think that's how I would go about it. After that I suppose you could come up with tons of ideas as far as insulation goes.
