    Interesting.....

Mine says "56798 FT DURA-LINE WP 18 BULL-LINE 2B45A3" (this was printed on the line).

I googled Dura Line WP18 and found this site http://www.duraline.com/catalog/pull-tape/polyester and it shows my Mule Tape to be 1800# minimum tensile strength5/8" (16mm).

Just finished mine, total weight comes too 2.2oz!

Thats a 4 ft finished strap and 6ft UCR, strap is made from WP18 mule tape and UCR is made from Dynaglide with only one whoopie hook on it (per suspension line). I will larkshead the UCR to one sewn eye of the mule tape, then feed the other end through the other sewn eye after wrapping around the tree.

Previously I had 3 ft 1" straps, with the same UCR weighting in at 2.4oz, so 0.2oz cut and 1ft length added.

Sorry for reviving a long dead post, but is there a reason for the continuous loop that attaches to the hammock? Couldn't you attach the fixed eye at the other end of the UCR directly to the hammock?

Again, Derek Hansen has a number of compelling reasons to keep your continuous loops. I run my dynaglide UCRs directly through the end channels in my BIAS Hiker Lite but keep them in my DIY tablecloth hammock. My DIY tablecloth hammock is my go to and at least twice the continuous loops came in handy. Most of the time they are just extra weight IMHO.

In an effort to be VERY obnoxious (hope not actually) I am digging up this old one and wondering why Sgt Rock took down all his youtube content. I remember watching this years ago and wanted to revisit it but it's gone
