First Winter Hang with Incubator UQ

I got my first UQ on Friday, just in time for my first winter hang. Four of us headed up to Mt. Hood for a snowshoe/backpack adventure to Clear Lake. I used the new Incubator 20 UQ and my 15 degree Mountain Hardwear Ultralamina sleeping bag (need to save for a real TQ) and I was snug as a bug in a rug. I think the low temp at night was around 30 (I'm not a 100% sure...but we did get a light dusting of snow, so it was definitely at freezing or lower) and I was super warm.

Very happy with the craftsmanship and overall quality of the product. It was worth the wait after the Black Friday sale.

The Incubators are great! One of my favorite pieces of gear - the suspension system, craftmanship and service are all top notch. Thanks for sharing your experience.

Thanks for the link. Looks like a long hike, but the snow was packed down pretty well...

Used my incubator 0* first time saturday. It was 30 outside, and I was in my 20* bag with it open to my waist, with only a light fleece shirt covering me (the breeze through the net kept cooling off my top). It felt like I was on an electric blanket. Bravo to the hammock gear people! The end got a little wet from rain/ice, so now my closet smells like a wet duck, but it's drying okay.

I'm just about to order a new 0* Incubator.

I would say my average night time temps are 20-40* but I'm often exposed to the wind. I would also like to go with a 0* because my wife would enjoy it more (especially if I carry it in my pack)

I also get out in the winter and would use it quite a bit.

My 20* Incubator serves me very well and I've had it out to 23* with comfort. The 0* incubator will be just a little more insurance, a solid dedicated winter quilt which I could vent and another piece of gear to help outfit friends who travel to come out with me and want to opt to use a hammock instead of a tent.

Lorax when it gets warmer the zero deg uq can just be lowered a little from the hammock so its not too warm. I sleep cold so It prob won't bother me until the 60 deg range. I love my 0 deg incubator.

Thanks for the tips! I plan on going to a pad or maybe even getting a light summer type UQ if it gets near 60 at night. But those nights here are few and far between for a very short time.

My goal this year is to have my 0* which is ordered, my 20 that I already have and a warm weather UQ hanging in the gear room.
I want to have one for every occasion.
