I need some advice on the best way to hang on a beach. Weight is not a big concern. I will be taking a small skiff (Gheenoe) to a 10,000 island campout. I could hang in the trees, but even though the campout is in February the trees are brushy and buggy.
Depending on the amount of driftwood that is washed a shore, and the size of it, you could just hang from it. I have done this in the past and have had to get pretty creative with it, but have done it.
You may need to carry an "extension" kit, for such an outing. Mine has 2 6ft whoopies, and 2 double ended (loops on each end) 6ft tree straps in it. I use the Warbonnet suspension system which is already 15ft tree straps.

Thanks...I adore/miss Ft. Collins. Of all the places/areas I wished I could have stayed living at it would be the Col. Springs/Denver area.
Man I miss that area and always wanted to live permanently there.
Thanks guys, yes it was a wonderful trip. With this particular area even though we were clear up against the forest line the tide did roll in at about 3 in the morning and we had about 2 inches of water under us. So I can actually say I slept over the ocean in my hammock

Well I’m back, but sorry to say I have no pictures to show as promised for this trip using the beach setup. The creek was 11’ over its norm due to that Christmas day storm so all the sand bars were covered. But I can show the first testing of it at the local beach. The 7’ aluminum poles are from an old free standing sun shade thing.
The stakes are 1” X 1/8” aluminum angle I got from Lows hardware. They come as a 3’ piece so I cut them in half and put the cable in at 6” from the bottom.
The hole at the top end is for running some cordage thru so you can stand up to pull it out of the sand. The Velcro just keeps things neat.
The cables are 3/32” X 15’. I put out 2 at each end at approximately 23* off center line.
“DISCLAIMER” setup has only been tested to 165 lb.
