WTB - External Backpack Frame only.

Looking for an external backpack frame- hey I'd love to find a Luxurylite for sale but I'll be realistic

I don't need the bag, just the frame. Shoulder pads and waist belt optional even if not in great condition, I can use them for pattern.

Either fully adjustable or 15 to 17" back length.

Must be willing to ship to Canada, shipping charges paid extra.

You might check with FLRider. He made a custom frame setup from some T-fittings from the hardware store and some carbon fiber tubes (not sure if they are arrows or kite parts). It made a really nice setup. That may get you farther into your project than just recycling an old frame.

    Thanks, zukiguy.

It's actually a set of carbon fiber crossbow bolts (bought at WallyWorld) press-fitted into 1/2" outer diameter nylon plumbing Ts. I show it off in this thread (link to original frame design in thread). When I made the shift over to the Beta iteration, the only changes were to the shoulder straps, waist belt, and MOLLE panel material (went from 70d to 1000d for longevity). The frame remained the same.

I'd recommend getting the plumbing Ts first; some arrow shafts are narrower in diameter than others. Grab 'em and then test the shafts for fit before purchase.

The hardest part of the design was the shoulder straps. It's a lot harder to make a pair of shoulder straps exactly the same length than you might think...

Hikingdad's offer is absolutely wonderful - a way better deal than I ever expected. I can see where I'll be doing some 'PIF' around here soon!

We're working on the shipping details as we 'speak'.

Thanks guys, this forum is awesome!!
