Any solutions for hammock hat head?

Oh, and for hair, the mad bomber hats with real fur don't mess your hair up so bad as synthetic, but they do look a little ridiculous.

The down and nylon fabrics make static like crazy, bit if you throw a couple of unused fabric softener sheets in the stuff sacks it knocks it down significantly.

At any place they sell regular hair bands they also sell the full headbands that are elastic and have a little rubber strip on the inside to keep them in place. They stop my hair from going back or forward when hiking, changing hat positions, running etc. I always wear one when I really don't want to have to mess with my hair. I've had one on every time I've slept in a hammock so far and never had your problem. The balaclava sounds like a good fix it for winter but for the other 3 seasons or if you would feel restricted like a previous poster mentioned, I'd recommend these handy dandy headbands.

I put my hair in a bunch of tiny French braids at the top, ( think corn rows but looser) they stay in well keep my hair out of my eyes, and still looks cute even after being out in the woods for days and being covered with hats or bandannas. I usually leave the bottom unbraided.

Just a slightly biased opinion - It's hard to go wrong with braids. ;-)

Maybe a Buff would do the trick. I wear one sometimes under a heavier hat.

+1 on the buff. I have short hair but the buff is so versatile that I'm willing to wager that one of its many modes will solve the problem.

The best solution for hat head for me is a good walk uphill. Once I start sweating, it'll settle into normalcy.

I suppose one could use vaseline-soaked cotton balls as a pomade, but that'll just lead to another thread on how to get grease out of the hat.

My understanding is that "The Cousin It" is the fashionable hair style all of the coolest outdoors people are wearing this season. Consider yourself Avant-garde.

Thanks for all the great ideas. I'm not the most fashionable person, so I'm not worried so much about how I look. However, those with long hair will understand that when your hair is out of place, it hurts!!

Right now lilprincess is trying out her Christmas gear. Black rock down hat and mittens, Under Armor ninjaclava, possum down gloves and socks, Costco down jacket, montbell ul tec down pants and feathered friends down booties.
