T - 3 Folks!
This is very late, and I've never quasi-organized an event like this before, but an altruistic, avid outdoor lover has made a very generous offer.
6 Black Kat Stoves are going to be donated to go into a raffle drawing. All proceeds will benefit the Friends of the South Cumberland organization. They do great work supporting the beautiful country we are about to visit.
The donor plans to mail the stoves directly to the six (6) winners, and since we all know how fun it is to walk away with the spoils of a raffle in hand I too have decided to donate a few items. I'm not a handy stove maker, but I will be bringing a never used still in the bag Grand Trunk Ultralight to throw in the pot since this is a hammocking event! Also to entice some of you to throw out some cash for 'TFOSC' I will also be bringing a Black Diamond Mercury 55 Backpack to throw into the raffle. This isn't brand new, but it practically is...it was merely BETA tested by yours truly...and even has the BETA run tags in it. Doesn't that make it a collectors item? I'll even sign the beta tag if you wish
Anyway, this is a completely optional drawing, but I think it would be great to make a donation to the folks that support the backcountry we love in the name of the First Annual Hammock Forums South Cumberland Spring Outing.
Since we are having a group breakfast and some folks are rolling in on Friday morning...I suppose it would make sense to have the raffle shortly after breakfast and before hitting the trail on day one!
Thanks again to our generous stove donor, and I can't wait to see you folks in a few days!!!

Afoot and light-hearted, I take to the open road,
Healthy, free, the world before me,
The long brown path before me, leading wherever I choose.
I may show up Saturday. I love Savage Gulf and that's not far from where I live.where y'all hanging saturday night? I have a confession to make here - I sleep in a tent. I want to explore alternative lifestyles but at a discreet distance from my hometown. Are you hangers tolerant or should I show up expecting to get into a scrap or two?

Tenting / Domestic Tranquility / Parallel Universe.
It may not be hanging but it is outdoors at a hang.
I'll be there Thursday afternoon, daughter in tow; I'd like to contribute to the Friday morning breakfast; do we have a list of needs so that I can bring something?
So many trees, so little time!

so far I've got eggs
Ftroop has bacon
Emcee has some kind of bells that are edible and packable
Hoping roche or spam brings the perculator.
Pop tarts for the kids? (I like frosted strawberry)
Forgot to say thanks to Ftroop for all the effort at the park, with the rangers, and scouting the Chinese buffet for afterward. Does the buffet know they'll be hit by 20+ starving hikers?
Now about that raffle...I was hoping just one group hang could have remained unblemished by outright capitolism, clean from the greed and corruption always associted with business; so I'd like to buy two tickets.

Since this is Hamhockers last trip for a while because of work we have decided to go to the Smokies instead. She hasn't been there before so I figured now is the time since she has that weekend off.
Hopefully we (or I) will see you guys on another trip
