Softer foam on the inside of the footbox will move with the sleeping bag, but your feet can get cold just because they are sticking out of the hammock. That can be a toe insulation problem that is getting blamed on the heel insulation. Get your feet back into the hammock AND find some insulation that works.

I couldn't bring myself to mod my traveler, and the Blackbirds where on sale so I went ahead and ordered one. I will pass this thread on to my friend who was having the same issue. Thank you for the help.
