Only recently got my ridge runner and have only been out with it once. When I packed at home I had them inside the pack but packing up in the windy cold I put them in an outside pocket and used the pack straps to hold them tight. Both worked fine but I am leaning towards keeping them on the outside. It was easy and I didn't have any problems while carrying them.

I have a Circuit as well, and I store them in a DIY bag in the outside mesh, and wrap the trekking pole velcro around them. They ain't going nowhere! I'll be trying out a GG Mariposa this winter, and I'll probably store them in the large side pocket.
Potential is nothing without hard work.

check out my videos on you tube.i reduced my spreader bar weight down to 2.6 ounces in the form of three small pieces of the origional spreader bar .they get stowed in a small pouch i made at the head end of my rr.you tube ,hair bears ridge runner hiking pole mod,it will take you through it step by step.there are 3 parts.it only cost me one dollar 68 cents.it looks like a factory aplication.it felt good to increase my function while telling a half a pound to take a hike without me.

Why not just use the trekking pole as your spreader bars with the pole tips he sells?

I will do a posting with pics in a week after testing a hiking pole I just bought. So far it works great, and without Brandon's pole tips of which I ordered earlier this week but don't have yet. I want to test some more, but last 2 nites not a problem with this cheap hiking pole.

Really looking forward to your pics. I thought the Leki Aergons would work for me but another member said they kind of exploded on him. Too much plastic I guess. I have been looking at some poles with the screw off knobs but non of them have flick locks and just seem like an inferior hiking pole.
