    Triangle thingies?

I'm looking at getting an underquilt soon (probably a snugpak as its cheap) just wondered whats the best way of connecting it to a hammock with a bug net (woodsman x from uk hammocks).

How is a triangle thingy used and is it easy to use?

I tried the triangle thingies and had a hard time getting them adjusted properly. Then on a sub zero hang, in the middle of the night one of the plastic hooks let go.
I've since installed Dutchware quilt hooks. I think they are the way to go.

Thanks for sharing the video, the hooks look great. How was your quilt attached to the loops at the gathered end?

+1 on the Dutch hooks, never could get the TT to work quite right. Dutch hooks are perfect every time.

I have the snugpak uq and made some triangle thingies, found them very hard to use with the snugpak so I took them off! Much easier to attach them to your suspension!

The triangle thingy is just a way to get the quilt to wrap around you better instead of pulling out when attached directly to the suspension. The fabric triangle things are easy on the bugnet. Not to knock the guy who thought these up but they might be a little overkill. A simple triangle thingy is one made from a cord forming a triangle over the top of the hammock . No hardware to break etc. Any way you can pull the UQ up instead of out works.

The way you are using the hook to pull the cords up over the top of hammock is a simple solution that accomplishes the same thing as the triangle things. Has the hook ever caught on the bugnet?

Triangle Thingies are very easy to make and use. I have been using them with my BB for a couple of years now and I leave them on the hammock ready to use.
I am still 18 but with 52 years of experience !

    Triangle Thingies

    http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/s...ad.php?t=16514

My first underquilt night in a hammock my underquilt kept falling off my shoulder and I had to reach through the netting to pull the underquilt back up 3 or 4 times. Triangle thingies would fix that. They change the angle/direction of the UQ suspension so it stays put better.
