Climashield

I'm ordering materials for my KAQ. Outdoor Wilderness Fabrics(OWF) no longer carries Polarguard 3D, but Climashield. From my understanding of the Climashield documentation on their website. It's somewhat less warm than Polarguard with a CLO of .77 per oz vs 3D's .90. OWF says the thickness is about 1/2in at 2oz sq yd. What do you all suggest? Maybe I should email Patrick directly. Are there any sources left for PolarGuard, and ClimaShield is what we'll get from now on.

AYCE posted about this on the board at Thru-Hiker - his math suggests Climashield is only marginally less effiecient than 3D for continuous-filament projects like quilts. It's also a lot easier to find right now, as you pointed out.

On the other hand, AYCE sells Climashield and not 3D. He also lists 3D as having a clo of .63, not .9 - not sure which is right, myself.

I think I answered my own question by looking at some comments made by AYCE on his Thru-Hiker.com message boards. Climashield XP does a BETTER job than 3D for a bit less weight using a CLO of .63 for 3D (vs my error of .9 in my post) and Climashield's .77.
