    Greetings from Dallas, TX

    Howdy All,
I've been lurking for about 6 months while I went back and forth about which hammock to start out w/. The wife and I just pulled the trigger on a pair of WBBBs (still trying to figure out if we should get a superfly to share or a pair of edges though).

I've been camping god-knows-how-many times due to studying geology for my undergrad. Finally managed to get my wife interested this year (we backpacked in Grand Teton and Yellowstone for our honeymoon).

Looking forward to hanging in the backcountry.

Very nice! Always great to go outdoors as a couple/family. Hammocks are a great way to do it.

Regarding the tarps, if it were me, I'd consider a pair of Mamajambas or even a pair of Superflys (or maybe one of each). It depends a bit on the types of trees you hang from and the weather you'll be in, but having two would let you get the best of both worlds.

If it's a nicer/milder night and you get a good tree setup, share the tarp so you can be close. If it's rough out or the tree configuration isn't cooperating, each of you still get your own solid coverage.

Welcome to your first post from Denver!

Thanks much for the welcome and especially the advice. That will be the ideal outcome, but money is limiting us to either 2 small tarps or one big tarp for the time being.

Welcome from the DFW area. I would save a bit longer and get either 2 superflys, or at the least 1 superfly and one smaller tarp.

There are lots of us hammock campers in the area. Hope to see you at one of the group hangs.
