That's not good, hope everything else is ok.

I have the xl t-shirt as well, I'm somewhere between a m & l, and I just wear it as my sleeping t-shirt at camp. It is a really nice material, drys very quick and feels quite light.

Let us know how everything else is, and pics of the setup.

Actually you have a nice setup with that hammock & tarp.
I've used the exact setup many times in some pretty rough/wet weather that tarp will do just fine.
Here is a little bonus for you if I can explain it right. When you string up your tarp it can be a single line over, under or separate lines off of each end any way will work, but turn the tarp sideways, you only need the end tie outs anyway & you will have a nice tarp pullout already installed on each side about midway. Works great & no additional sewing or mods on your part.
If you want a nice loonggg tarp set it up corner to corner. Anywho have fun with your new gear.
I also found I got a better more comfortable hang by not stringing the hammock as tight as DD recommends. I switched the webbing to whoopies as well but HYOH.

Well. I set it up in some trees that were pretty close together, baring the use of the tarp.... So I didn't worry about that right now.

My main concern was comfort and space to compared the GT UL.

    WELL it sure has it.

I like the material its made of, to compared the GT UL as well.

I quickly found the sweet spot on it from starting loose, then slowly tightening it till the center ridge everyone mentions went away.

I want to find an easier way to deal with the elastic cordage that you use for the netting, maybe put some biners on them or something.

No popping of the stitches coming out like the gt ul, no problems so far.

From the get go, I replaced the weird webbing it came with, made some loops with Para cord to go with my marlin spike system.

Friend of mine machined me some hard core toggles from some crazy strong type of aluminum. I forget the code he used. I'll get back to you on that one.

I took just two photos, and they'll be put up tonight.

I really wish I had trees in my yard so I can do some tweaking and actually sleep in it....

    Well, I'm out for now.

10-4 on the biners for your netting. I use the cheap ones people use for keys etc. Also don't worry about a stick or what not for the netting it stays open just fine as is without it when your inside sleeping.

    Here are the two

I was in a park with a disc golf course, these two trees were right over a "mound" or whatever you start from.

it was "cold" so noone was at the park anyways

The newer models come with poles for the netting I'm pretty sure?
