MN > Lake Maria State Park possibly

Hi all. I'm checking to see if there's any interest in camping at Lake Mariah State Park January 25-27. It would be a great trip for beginners and veterans alike as the park is fairly small but they have a warming house that's open 24/7. All sites are backpacking sites and there is a group site as well. If anyone would rather go to Mille Lacs Kathio State Park, that one is great as well and they have a larger park and trail network. IF we do this hang, I'll post a new thread with the details so it is all clear and concise. So... Who's in?

Hammock camping is banned at Nerstrand-Big Woods State Park but ok in Itasca SP. Check with the park before you continue then please post on the calendar.

You can hammock there, I've done it a bunch.

Yes, both parks allow hammock camping and I've hung at both. I think it's a little strange that any park would not!

The weekend after the MN frozen butt hang was not the best time for me to plan this trip. I have not gotten any interest from potential attendees. I'll try again another time, but I think that this trip will be on my own.

Have fun at frozen butt the weekend before, everyone! I have to work.
