Question DH RoamingGnome vs. WBBB SL

So about to break down and buy a new hammock but I am torn between two. For those who own both, which hammock do you prefer between the RoamingGnome and the WBBB? Please consider I am 6-1 and 235lbs and prefer a single layer.

really depends if the footbox works for you or not.
I prefer the Roaming Gnome myself and is generally my go to hammock.

I'm looking at a DH soon. They are a bit more customizable. but the WBBB offers aome very cool options you sont see anywhere else. Either way I'm sure you will be happy!

I have a WBBB 1.1 single and like it's features but I'm more of a bridge guy. I am right at the 200 # mark too and it seems to stretch quite a bit when I get in so the 1.7 should do for you.

Ive got a wbbb, but Ive kinda been wondering this too. I really like that the bugnet on the roaming gnome fits fully away if you want it too. thats sweet.
Does anyone own both that could shed some light? And I love my footbox, but if you get the DH wide enough (which you can) wouldnt it pretty much serve that purpose?

I've used a WBBB and currently use a Dream Hammock (DH) DangerBird. The DangerBird has a cover where as the RoamingGnome does not. Both have a bug net. I think the added width of the DH allows a flat lay, which I think in the purpose of the foot box on the WBBB. Either will work, but I think the DH have slightly more versatility than the WB hammocks do. For your size and weight, I'd advise getting the 11' DH or the WB XLC.

Most fabric choices (other than the really wide tafetta) with the DreamHammocks are about the same width as the BBs, which are 65" wide.

I also had a Dangerbird (as mentioned, similar to the gnome, except it has the cover) and have extensively used the BB.

My favorite for straight-up comfort is the BB (especially the XLC with the slightly longer length) - the footbox gives it that bit of extra edge for me that sets it above all other gathered-end hammocks I've tried.

Dream Hammocks are certainly more configurable, though. If you want a certain fabric choice or other similar mods, those are a good way to go.

The good news is that you won't be disappointed with either. Both are comfortable, well made and backed by two of the best hammock vendors around.
