    New to hanging

Hi everyone. I was hoping you guys could help me out. I recently lost what camping supplies I owned in a fire at my parents and to decided to switch to a hammock after all the positive reviews. After some research I would like a BlackBird with a superfly. What I need help with is what extras I would need to set both of these up lines, stakes, and etc. Also what you would recommend for top quilt and bottom quilt for around 15 degrees. Btw lets try for under $800.

Welcome... For tie outs, 2.2, 1.75mm zing it would be more than enough, add in a few line lockers from the forum store and a little time and your good to go... Or if you like knots, just some zing it and a few knots and your good to go...

Insulation is something I'll let the northerners talk you into...

I heard you need to treat the superfly. Is this true?

What do you mean by treat? If you mean seam seal the ridgeline, then no. None of warbonnet's tarp ridgelines need seam sealing. Although it is recommended that you seam seal any pull outs.

Scroll down to the "Pick Your Camping Hammock Options ŕ la carte — Hammock Camping Comparison Chart" and have a good time comparing different setups.

+1. Seam sealing the pull-outs is important. Use the Silicone-based sealer. Hang it up like you'll use it (except upside down so you can easily seal the bottoms of the pulls. Can be done in about 10 minutes.

sorry to hear about the fire but the blackbird and superfly is a great choice and the only thing you will need to treat is the seems on the tieouts in the middle of the superfly.
