    Nobul1 TQ Project

I placed an order for 5 yards of Nobul1 mid-December but, must admit a moment of concern when I pulled the parcel from Titanium Goat out of the mailbox yesterday! My initial though… There’s no way this envelop has 5 yards of fabric in it!!...I was wrong, it's just super thin and very light. With a ”tip of the cap” for a hassle free & accurate (across border) delivery, Thanks Titanium Goat…I will be making another purchase soon!

My original intention for the Nobul1 was to make an ultra-light version of the WR-II UQ but now that I have it in hand, I think it’s better suited for a summer weight TQ…somewhere around 11/12oz finished weight (shell & feathers). Has anyone used Nobul1 to make a quilt? If so, can you post pics?? This stuff is close to transparent and I’m wondering what it looks like stuffed.

I was told by Stormcrow that it's not downproof. He recommended against me having a TQ made from it and we went with the Nobul 2 instead.

There seems to be little info. on nobul1 or 2. I'm looking into fabrics for a couple UQ's.

I've read two comments now on nobul2 not being down proof. Nothing of detail but just mentions. I believe on BPL.

I see that Black Rock gear has a hat made from Nobulhttp://www.blackrockgear.com/nobul.html so it must have some downproofness to it.....if it's the same weight as the fabric you purchased.....good luck.

The reports on BPL when TiGoat first offered this as "D8" said that it leaked a bit, but so does a lot of commercial coats.

    The Nobul Pillow Confrontation

My favourite way to test fabric is...Make a pillow and beat the stuffing (or feathers in this case) out of it for 10 rounds

Sure, there was a little fluff floating about in the opening rounds but after the 10th, the Pillow didn't give up a single feather. the Ref sided with Nobul1...No Leak observed. The fabric has a great feel to it, I will make the TQ after all

I'm glad to see some good results with NB1. I just received 3 yrds of it for the inner shell of a TQ (M50outer). I have seen a few references to its not being down proof, but don't recall specific failures. I figured an occasional lost tuft would be OK.
I hope to see some pictures of the work in progress and some usage notes.
    Thanks for sharing your pillow.
