Looking for alternatives to slap strap pros...

I'm currently just starting out with my hammock setup. I've always been a tent camper and after experimenting with my Eno Dn this past summer I realized I was in love. However, after several hangs between the same trees I noticed the same settings I always used were producing different results. To get to the point, my concern is the Eno slap straps that I purchased with the hammock. They seem to have some ( I mean a lot) stretch and not to sound picky but I've always wanted a set of straps with the same strength but no stretch

. I have been reading about so many alternatives here in the HF and a lot of folks have many different favorites for many different reasons. Im overwhelmed and not sure what to get. So I'm looking for some ideas. I'm not concerned with weight, color, style or anything else, just want no stretch or at least less stretch than what I have now. And i don't want to just buy something without knowing all the alternatives available. Any thoughts?

Go to the hardware store and get you a couple of ratchet straps, like you would use to tie something down in the back of a truck. Cut the hooks off, and look up how to tie a marlinspike hitch.

What he said... Walmart has some good ones, $10ish you will get two 15 feet straps which is almost double what you need but I still carry the full length in case those trees are WAY far apart...

If it was me, however, I'd stay away from any straps made of nylon so you don't repeat your stretching problem. I ordered 13 ft of 1 inch POLYESTER straps from strapworks and then sewed on my own loops on the end. I'm very pleased with how they perform.

I have some experience here, let me help...you can try a dozen different ways to skin a cat, to save 4 or 5 dollars. Do it right the first time, call Arrowhead equipment, polyester straps with 2 eyes .50 a foot.

No stretch, made for the job...

If you're going to be using the carabiner that comes with the DoubleNest to hook into your straps, the Atlas Straps sold by ENO are specifically made to work with that, as are the Kammok Roo Python straps.

However, there are easier ways to skin that smoke wagon. If you want the easiest in adjustability, look into ordering either the Arrowhead Equipment cinch buckle kit or the Warbonnet Outdoors adjustable webbing suspension. Both will require a climbing-rated 'biner or Dutch Clip to go around the tree (or, you can unthread and rethread the buckles each time you hang; not particularly hard to do that, but you can use the 'biners that came with the hammock instead), but are the easiest to use of any suspension that I've seen. Not the lightest, nor the least bulky, but you stated that you didn't mind that, so...

What he said! Only 6 Bucks a pair 7 if you want them longer! And learn the Marlin Spike Hitch then you can use almost anything as a toggle or go for one of Dutch's solutions from Dutchware.
Then when you're ready upgrade to Whoopie Slings and ditch those sharp, bulky beaners.

Yea, Im finding this out about nylon, including my current ridgeline made of 550 paracord. Thanks.
