Best place to buy a Mayan Hammock?

    Dejoha mentioned this spot: http://www.stylemexican.com/super_king_hammocks.html
Does anyone have experience with this vendor, or know of a better place? The shipping is $40, but the quality looks good...looking at the jumbo size so the whole family can tumble in.

Unless you're looking for a high-end Mayan and willing to spend a couple of hundred dollars for one, Hammocks Rada is where I would point you. I have ordered many hammocks from them...many. These are in my arsenal of staple gift items and they are priced fair enough to do it. The quality is good and the comfort has been consistently good as well. They are my go-to Mayan site.

Take a vacation to Cozumel and buy one for $50. It may not be the best Maya hammock out there but you will have the best time.
We are now ready to start our way down the Great Unknown. We are three quarters of a mile in the depth of the earth. We have an unknown distance yet to run, an unknow river yet to explore. What falls there are, we know not; what rocks beset the channel, we know not; what walls rise over the river, we know not. Ah, well! We may conjecture many things. The men talk as cheerfully as ever; jests are bandied about freely this morning; but to me the cheer is somber and the jests are ghastly. Powell 1869

Price is low, offsetting a strange business model which involves shipping by air from the Yucatan directly to the local UPS terminal for truck delivery to the customer, instead of, say, once weekly shipping to the US, and then expedited delivery from there.

I was knocked out by the vividness of the colors of one I bought for my sister. She called them beforehand and specified the colors. She was delighted with it through a summer of use. (No chance for me: I arrived in Oregon for a month of rain.)

This isn't a "where to get" but if you've never had a mayan hammock... don't ever let the ends get tangled when putting up/taking down. You might as well just buy a new one.

What I do is keep one finger in both end loops at all times until the end loop is ready to be hung. When ready to put it back in it's bag I keep both end loops on one finger, twist the ends together, stuff the main body of the hammock into the bag, then twist the ends some more so that it naturally coils into the bag and then take my finger out of the two end loops.

I'm very anal retentive about it because I don't want to have to buy a new one for something as dumb as getting the lines twisted... and even though I'm that anal I've still gotten it a little bit twisted when I wasn't being as careful about it as I should have been
