Anyone Know Anything About This Injector?

I've already googled and found nothing. It's an Alexander Super Deluxe (made in Japan) machine my neighbor dragged me over to see. Its a shuttle, not bobbin machine. I know it's Japanese and probably a knock off of an older Singer. This thing is like new and the cabinet has no marks or scratches on it. Should I try to talk him out of it or is it junk? It's all heavy metal - no plastic. It also has an Edison motor. I have not tried it as it needs a good oiling - it's bone dry. I told him not to play with it yet.

Any help appreciated!

Looks like in that era dozens of manufacturers in Japan were making "badged" machines...

It is one of many (Singer) 128 clones made in Japan. Generally the Japanese clone machines are good quality, often rivaling the Singers they copied.

Make sure it has one or more shuttles and the elongated bobbins as these can get pricey (and I'm making the assumption that singer shuttles will work in it).

Your Singer 201 is a better machine. However, if space is not a problem, I'd grab it.

Ah - Singer 128. Thanks for that. It is a complete unit in very fine condition. Already grabbed for free. I normally wouldn't want it except it's like new and very shiny - I like shiny injectors.

It looks like it from a distance! The seller of that machine is far away ------ I know, I know - it kinda looks like it - from a distance, in the dark, during a snow storm, with one eye closed and the other eye shut.

I admit I only took a fast look at it. Everything looks good from a distance - does it help that my monitor is really small?

It belongs to me now. MINE! Sorry - I like the older machines - all metal - no plastic- so if I find one, I'll pick it up. If it works, great! If not, then I can strip it for parts. They don't build them like that anymore - sadly.
