    Need a tarp/rainfly

I have the ENO Double and bug guard net. Need to get a tarp/rainfly.

Not sure what to get. For now will mostly car camp 3 seasons.

Was thinking of the Kelty Noua 12', but hear it's fairly heavy, sometimes hard to set up, and needs "seam sealer" (?).

I do like being able to use it like a winter tarp for privacy and the price range is good. But it seems like it would be one of many tarps one would have for diffrent uses.

Are there other/better options (lighter, quality, versitility even if it was smaller) out there for under 100 shipped?

    Thanks,

    Pete

Thanks. I think the Mamajama w/ pullouts would be good.

I was excited about the Kelty Noah's 12 when I got it, but realized after only a few sit-ups that its more tarp than I needed. Not to mention the weight and size make it quite cumbersome. I just did not want to set it up because of it's size and weight.

I returned the kelty, and went with the Wilderness Logics Tadpole + side pullouts for under $100. I'll be getting tarp tensioners soon, and be hanging under shelter in no time.

For a little extra money a tarp with doors like the Superfly would be worth it IMO. Not only better for all around weather protection but better privacy as well.

    Tarp

I also have ENO DN and Guardian
I have a Superfly, and no complaint. Good coverage; wind blown rain, close doors; porch mode, 2 sticks out the woods, or 4 sticks for dual porch mode depending where other trees are located for tie outs.
    Never been wet under it.
However I did seam seal the ridgeline with DIY silicone/paint thinner, just mixed
It thick and applied with 1" paint brush. 10 minutes work, 6 hrs. Drying = peace of mind. Hate being wet while sleeping.

If you are car camping then the Gear Guide 11x11 ft tarp is a great tart for the $$.

Picture is of a Gear Guide 11x11 with a Mosquito Camo and then a Warbonnet Big Mamajamba tarp for size reference.

I have modified the Gear Guide tarp so I can now hang in its original configuration diamond shape or as a rectangular tarp.

The Superfly is awesome, but will cost a bit more than what you want to spend. For you price range I would suggest the WL Tadpole. Spring for the side pull outs. It's a great tarp and what I carry pretty much anytime I go out. Been through plenty of good rainstorms with it and always stayed dry.

I would also say the 11'x11' Guide Gear tarp would work well.

I was wondering if anyone knows if the guide gear 8&1/2 by 8&1/2 guide gear is big enough for coverage on the diagonal? I've never had one, but it seems that they have changed quality and dimensions on the 2012 model and I am wondering what peoples thoughts are now?
