Binder Clips for Securing a Pad?

I've seen passing mention on a couple different threads about using binder clips to hold a sleeping pad in place on a hammock. I find this idea very fascinating, but I have a couple questions about it for people that secure their pads this way...

    1) Does this increase wear & tear on the fabric of the hammock body? If so, how do you mitigate it.

    2) Is there a type of pad that works better with a binder clip than others?

    3) What mods, trims, etc. do you do to the pad to make it fit well?

Thanks in advance for the info.

    - Nonsense. You only say that because no one ever has.

Binder Clips for Securing a Pad?

I did it last time out with tarp clips from WalMart. Home Depot also sells a version. 4 clips for abot $5.
