    Hang is getting better!

Ok I am figuring this out slowly. I don't have trees close together out side, I tried on the swing set but was to close. (The outdoor picture) I remembered that I had an outdoor stand from a giant woven hammock up in the attack. I put it in a very junkie catch all room, excuse the mess, the hang is so much better. The end point of Stand is about 15.5'. The big rope ridge line is to keep the stand from bouncing back into the walls. It is keeping the slack/play out of the pipes. Stand goes from corner to corner of the room.

I retied "head end"of hammock with a "W" fold and lashed, the "foot end" is gathered with a cord channel. In the original set up I was not supported on the outside head edge. The "W" fold brought the sides together. I did pull the outside edges about 1.5 inches tighter in the W fold.

It has little extra fabric over the outside edges but I can deal with that or do a "knotty mod".

Does this look about right? It feels good, I will sleep in it tonight.

This is a DIY with 11' of rip stop nylon. Suspension is garage put together items, ratchet straps and a piece of heavy cord that I had laying around. I will upgrade suspension once I have a chance to buy some amsteel.

This is my first hammock. Much bigger learning curve than I expected.

get outside and find some trees. I know it is best to try things out close to home, but if you don't have the spot find one and relax and enjoy.

I will definetly find trees at the state park. But not having all the essentials yet, not sure I want to hang out in 25 degrees.
