I came back to this thread to mention that there's an interview with Ed, but I see the original posting said that.
Really interesting history on this one, r.e. a 6 month solo stint in Alaska, avoiding bears. Also interesting to learn about the scale of Ed's operation.

Got an iPod for Christmas... listening to Ed on the Episode 12 podcast now... it's an interesting interview. It's much more fun talking to Ed in person at his Hot Springs, NC hangouts though.
